Ok..so my side of the story goes like this.
I took the family to the URE event today. No wheeling just a day trip to visit with everyone and pick up some wheels. So when we got there, I saw Kieth right away. Talked a bit and he told me that the Polaris dealers were allowing free demo drives and that he'd already driven one. He was explaining the steering response a bit and I became very curious. So we decided to go check it out so I could see for myself that the Polaris folks are craaaazy and actually let me sign and drive one of the sportier 800 models( I know..not the 900 rzr..booo)
Anyways, they let me take my daughter for an easy lap, then I took my wife for a ''scare her'' ride
then...and they really should have known better, but they let me and Kieth take off. I was driving and we went good and fast..I was given her all she had, while trying not to kill us or the machine. We took a lap, did ok, came in to the turn a little hot and skipped it, I said'' well we missed our turn, lets go around again''...lol So the next lap was a little more exciting, i was really trying to hammer on it(keep in mind the Polaris rep said'' drive it like it was your own'' So here we are just getting it..never letting up through the bumps, turns...just gettin it, when all of a sudden, while killing it in a right hander, then sudden left hander back to pits, Kieth all of a sudden decided to get very heavy and make the polaris hop up on two wheels(his side down) Felt like we were going to barrel roll this brand new sxs right in front of everybody..we rode on 2 wheels for several feet and with a little tug of the wheel to the right..we set it back down like it never happened, gave each other a high 5 and brought it back, in one pc. for others to ride.
Funny thing is..I sked the rep, who was always following on a quad..''how close to rolling did we come?'' He said..''Oh you rolled it...you just didnt roll it somehow''. He was smiling and everything was all good. Just wanted to share the coolest part of my day.
By the way, it wasnt my bad driving that almost wrecked us..it was Kieth's weight. Thats my story and I told it first. So its true.
