Is this a kissing bug? I know there are a bunch of different species, and this showed up in the google image search, but there were only a couple pics of one that looked like this. Found it in my shop tonight.

It's a wheel bug, also called an assassin bug. I've never heard it called a kissing bug but I'm not from these parts originally. It's a predator of catarpillars and stuff like thst, and they're cool to have around because there aren't usually that many around in an area. We used to have a lot of them in Southwest Virginia when I was younger.

If you see one don't kill it. They're really slow and harmless, and if you don't start fucking with it then it won't stab you. I've played with them a lot and never had a problem. They're like sloths in insect form. Learn to live with your insect predators, they help everyone.

Oh yeah, they eat stink bugs. That's a bonus.

I don't have the will to give you all the info tonight. It is an Assassin bug but the Kissing bug is also an assassin bug. Don't worry about the disease that was posted on social media about it, our local kissing bugs don't shit on your face like to ones in the story. lol
Don't smash it, they stink like hell, paper towel or have vac.

I didn't smash it yet. It's pretty cold out and it isn't moving fast. Probably still on my table saw. I'll evict him to the woods tomorrow.

That looks like like one of them aliens from Stormship Troopers, or whatever that movie was.

We were swarmed by those at Windrock a couple months ago. I'm still finding them in my jeep and trailer.

^ That is what most of the kissing bug pics looked like. I guess mine is living happily in the woods behind my shop.
