damn Jon, knee surgery was the most painful recovery of any surgery ive had. good luck with that.
Make sure your wraps are not too tight, as your leg swells it will get very painfull.

Had the same surgery 10 years ago... go to rehab or you will regret it... ask me how I know

Yup goto Rehab, it is torture but worth it. and keep stretching way after it is healed. I have full movement after an ACL repalcement. My chiropractor, who rehabs a local hockey team, was impressed at how much movement i had in the knee after 10+ years. He doesnt see many people have it like that. I would stretch every day. Like they said^^^^ go to rehab. I had a injury that amounts to about the same surgery but I also broke my knee cap, fibula and split my tibia and my femur. Wasn't lucky enough to pass out and when I got to the ER they put a catheter in. When the doctors finally came to talk with me they wanted to amputate. I gave a quick HELL NO to that so they decided to reconstruct. I was told I would never climb latters or steps would always need a cain or crutch. After 6 months of rehab I was almost good as new except for some nerve damage and I still can't crawl but walk just fine. I hope you have a speedy recovery and do all the stuff they tell you to in rehab because it can make a difference.

Had my ACL repaired, both meniscus trimmed and tears removed and arthritic tissue removed from under my knee cap taken out 3 years ago (I was 21). Listen to the doctors, do the rehab and keep a positive attitude about the rehab and you will be fine. I found that pool workouts and swimming on top of my rehab really helped my strength come back faster.

I don't want to hear about driving... I borrowed my bros car (automatic) drove left footed one semester in college after I had my hip work done, and then when getting my other hip fixed, had to lift my left leg by my pant leg to clutch my truck.
Seriously I wouldn't wish my pain on my worst enemy... But listen to these other guys... Take the rehab, stay extra, push yourself now and you will bounce back much faster...

Ive had 3 ACL replacements plus 1 total reconstruction.
13 separate orthascopics (inclding both meniscuses)
and 2 other ligament repairs...
You should be back to new in 5-6 weeks....
But oh yeah GO TO REHAB...also do not take pain meds before rehab. The pain is a good indicator to the body of over exertion...take a pain pill then go to rehab and you stand a real good chance to re injure....

I had 1 scope, 2 ACL reconstructions, and part of my meniscus cut away and repaired. So far everyone has given the best advice to go to rehab. I don't know how civilian DRs are but the ones in the military are ruthless when it comes to rehab. The day after my last surgery one of them came to my room and made me bend my leg. That was full of suck and I was out of morphine so I just had to deal with the pain it brought on. Sorry to hear you have to go through that; it is truly a painful surgery/recovery. Just hang in there and you'll recover in no time.

Go to rehab, tore my acl in may or june of 97 was back riding at the end of the summer, won unlimited am indoor mx series that winter, it will for sure get u back quicker
I just got it done, havent been back for my followup yet so im not sure what the options are for rehab. But from yalls post's ill be looking into rehab. Its really not that painful, its just very uncomfortable burning sensation - im trying not to take my pain meds & just dealing with it. The only thing that really sucks is being useless. I cant tollerate not being able to do anything; im going a little stir crazy.
