knocking noise on front axle of superduty

got an 03 superduty, i dont remember it doing this before but now going down the road when you hit small bumps or whatever in the road you can hear a knocking noise coming from somewhere, 2 other guys i know that have lifted superdutys have the same problem....ive checked everything i can see on the outside of the axle and front suspension and cant seem to find anything loose on it....any help or ideas on figuring this out would be good, thanks
 
Sway bar links? (If you've still got the sway bar.)
 
Rattlecan is right. I had the same problem.

That's a fairly comon problem for Ford across the board. I've replaced sway bar bushings on 4 different models so far.

i mabout positive it should be the sway bar links or bushings, the ones on there right now arent even a year old and theyre poly bushings....would the leaf spring bushings make a noise like that if theyre bad, and would you be able to feel it in the floor?
 
I've got a pop noise in my front end but I've found one ball joint bad. But only other thing is I have a bad vibe in the front under acceleration gonna have to look into that one
 
ive checked all the ball joints and theyre good on mine....as far as that goes, i dont know
 
i dont think its in the sway bar, but for no harder than it is to diconnect it....ill give it a shot
 
It is the sway bar. Makes a real nice clunk for sure.

had the same problem on my truck, took it to the dealership and they were idiots and said they couldnt figure it out. took it to this ole shop down the road and he found it it 2 minutes, it was my shock bushing at the bottom on the left side.
 
well i pretty much figure now after all the help on here that its some bushing on the front end somewhere....and by the way, thanks for all the help
