Most of the time new Hanover county's not that bad to deal with have had several problems with them back in my rough and rowdy days, pender county and duplin county have the biggest assholes working for the pd, sheriffs dept.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. It's a crime for you to lie to the police, but it's standard operating procedure for them to lie to you.

When leaving the Outer Banks on 64 west there is a sign stating it is unlawful to feed bears along the highway. So I asked a park ranger what was the penalty for doing so? No law no penalty. Just try to discourage folks from attracting bears to the road.

Within reason. The false information would still have to meet the elements either under "Giving Fictitious information to an officer", "Resist, Obstruct, and Delay", or filing a false police report.
