I'm picking up a 2007 Kodiak C5500 Monroe Conversion as a Tow Pig, And I'm not finding a lot of good info or parts sources out there.

Anyone got any good sources for info and parts?

I have a couple of 6500/7500 series trucks but nothing that new. Getting basic stuff like alternators, filters etc can usually be done at a competent NAPA. Bigger stuff like bearings, seals etc sometimes has to come from a medium/heavy duty truck shop.

Is the truck a Duramax, Gasser or has it been swapped?

Duramax, 6.6

I haven't brought it home yet, so can't really dig into it, (Plan to get it home this weekend or next) But I started figuring out what I'm gonna need, working where it's currently at. Some of the stuff I'm sure I'm gonna have to find used,

Runs and drives great, but I want to fix some of the stuff that's jury rigged right now. The Monroe suspension in the back and the whole air system is basically setup with ball valves right now, and the bypassed leveling valves haven't got arms or rods connecting them to the axle. Hoses aren't right either. Haven't been able to find any manuals or diagrams of the system, so I'm running blind on that.

Rear light are wired up as if it were a trailer, crappy wire and vampire taps, all the original wires from the truck are there with the plugs hanging, but I think the rear wiring distribution block is gone, so I'm hoping to find one of those, and some GM wiring to lights that I can make pigtails to the lights with. Currently the Brake and Turn signals don't work at all in the back or in any of the trailer connectors, Backup and Marker lights are fine, Turn signals work in the front, all fuses are good.

Yeah, I don't expect to have any trouble with the "normal" stuff, LKQ and the on-line heavy truck places can cover all that with part numbers.

There’s a group on Facebook called Kodiak Dynasty and that’s been a wealth of knowledge for me. These trucks came from that factory with wiring issues and many quirks. It’s a lot like owning a jeep, you just learn to love its flaws. Mines fixing to go u see the knife and get the rear axle moved back.
In the future I hope to find a nice cab to swap in to mine as it has rust and some issues.

Look up Safe T steering stabilizer for these trucks. People swear by them, I’m fixing to add it to mine as well and will report back.

I'm sorry did you say "back"? Is this the truck we're talking about?
