I am going to lay it out there. I run 39'' red lable krawlers right now. Love them but last trip to MT City I walked the water fall but the tires sucked in the snow on the road. I also cut the sidewall on one. I am purchasing a set of Maxxis Trepadors 40'' comp compound. Will I have as good of a tire and performance with these compaired to my BFG'S.

I would rather not say. I am getting them at a deal. I can get both for cheap enough. I just hate to waist my time buying them if not worth it.

I've heard quite a few times that red labels absolutely suck in the snow. I think this goes for any sticky compound tire, especially one with such large tread blocks. The treps have a better sidewall, but otherwise it's like arguing vinegar or tomato based bbq sauce...everyone has their own opinion (and tsl's are better. :flipoff2:)

From my experience in wheeling (while i havent personaly run either tire) I can say that krawlers seem like a better choice in the rocks. Expecially when they are worn down some. Both will suck in the rain and its a toss up in the snow.

I dont think I will worry to much about rain. However a Krawler is an open cell tire where a Trepador is not. Means a krawler will soak up water and in the snow it will freeze and be like ice on ice. I do thank everyone for their input and people can countinue. I will try the Trepadors out. If I dont like them I will just put my Krawlers back on.

if you dont like the treps let me know and ill buy them off you..Just pm me when your ready.

I love them but have never ran a krawler..I have ran the treps in the snow and they did very well.
