Anybody game? I haven't looked closely into it yet, but it might be fun to do Crozet one day and Rausch the next.. or maybe stretch it to 3 days of wheeling?

Just testing the waters to see if there's interest.. We will be up there anyway (her family is 1/2 hour from Paragon), and I wanna do some wheeling too.

Tentative (and VERY flexable, just initial ideas, I'm open for suggestions) schedule would be to leave wherever you live really early Friday morning, meet up at Crozet in the AM.. Wheel all day, staying overnight there. The next day, either head up to Rausch, or spend another day at Crozet, heading up to Rausch either that evening or the next morning.

I'm sure there are going to be rides at both places since it's a holiday weekend, so that shouldn't be an issue. edit: I'm still going to check with the owners though...

(Deleted the other post because I couldn't edit the main title)

Crozet will be a great place to really do some body damage...never seen anyone go there and run the difficult stuff without really trashing their stuff.

Cool.. I want a polycarb hood anyway.. :D

Should I plan on 2 days there, or is one day enough to hit the good trails?

Depends on if you let Chris guide you through it. Chris spotted us through bodyshop and some pretty nasty stuff withought anybody damage on a friday. But Saturday when we were on our own we went back to the same stuff and took the wrong lines. We all pretty much did some damage.

The wife and I are planning on doing Rausch Creek labor day weekend. If you're going that way I'm trying to find a group to tag along with.

Wife's got a stock unlimited and is new to wheeling, I've got an '80 CJ-5 on 35's... it's new to me and I'm a bit rusty (been in iraq for a little while) so I was hoping to find a group with some experience and patience to join up with and maybe give me some spots and refreshers. And help me teach the wife.

Let me know and we'll meet you up there. We'll be camping at one of the places outside rausch creek.

Peramus - cool, maybe we'll see ya around. You may want to check the Rausch creek boards (there are links in the important info section) there seems to be conversations for different riding groups, people finding others to ride with, etc.., basically, exactly what you're looking for.

I'd love to ride with ya, but I don't think we'll be running the same trails, sorry.

P.S. Thanks for serving!

Well your welcome... but I've been out of the military for over a year now. I now serve those who serve. But I do work with some of the best human beings in the world every day! So I will be sure to pass on all of your well wishes.

I posted on RC's forum too. Thanks... I hope to meet up with some of you and maybe have a little fun!

Crozet will give you a reason for a polyhood Rich if you want it bad enough. Myself and the guy I was riding with found ourselves flopped over within the first 30 seconds into the first obstacle. :driver: I believe 2 rigs out of about 10 that weekend were the only ones who didn't roll or flip at least once. Some did 3 or 4 times. Only 2 rigs escaped the weekend without breaking. Depending on a head count my mom is about 1.5 hrs away from Crozet so we can have some creature comforts. Like was said you can do it in a day and it's only as hard as you make it. :huggy:
