Was on my way home friday am and came around a turn and a guy was stoped making a left turn and had no break lights. I locked it up and laid it down and slid into his bumper and tailgate. I had my leather jacket on and it took most of the road rash and my helmet took a good lick but I came out with just some scrapes and bruises. The bike will probably be totaled it has broken forks and the whole right side is trashed. Just thankful that I was abke to walk away and was the one to call my wife and not the leo calling.

Yes sir!! Glad to hear your OK! The Lord was watching over you. Bikes are replaceable...we are not!

That sucks brother glad your ok.bikes are disposable they made million more so no worries.on another note my racing instructor alway said that bikes seemed to be easier to control with the rubber on the ground and I should do my best to keep them that way but hey it dont always work out that way

Yes the lord was watching over me for sure. Not worried about the bike that's what insurance is for.

Glad you're okay, nothing much scarier than that moment you realize you can't stop and that feeling of your tires sliding.

Was the other vehicle cited for not having brake lights? His insurance should be paying for the bike if so. Glad youre OK!

No one was cited it was a he said she said thing it sucks but at the end of the day I'm just thankful to have walked away

Not arguing the point of cited on brake lights, but I've always heard, & been told, "you hit someone in the rear, it's your fault". I know there are circumstances, that can't be helped, but it's generally = you failed to reduce your speed. And you may be making a turn, & not need to be using the brake pedal.
Glad Bullardbs, not hurt!

This^
Manual transmission on flat ground or uphill, I'm gonna have one foot on the clutch and the other on/over the gas.

But I'm glad you're ok. Wrecking anything is never good, but especially not on a bike!

Glad your ok. I guess I should have said that first.

Life goes on its just a bike but it has been a eye opener life is short and you never know when its your time. After this I feel like I've been given a second chance and it makes you think more and appreciate the small things in life.

I'm sure you are thankful for the leather jacket now. I have a lot of respect for bikers that wear the right equipment even when it's insane hot outside. I have to imagine it's REALLY uncomfortable, but road rash is a lot MORE uncomfortable. I see a lot of bikers that wear t-shirts and shorts (my wife's ex-husband is one) that piss and moan about "helmet laws" that end up in the hospital or worse. So far, he hasn't laid his bike down (he just got it a couple months ago), but I figure it won't be long. I just hope that when he does, my step-daughter isn't on it with him - because she has even less sense than him when it comes to that.

I have a relative that will wear shorts, a t-shirt, and flip-flops while he rides. I can't help but roll my eyes.

I wear my leather jacket its not bad it has a zip out liner and has mesh in the under arms etc so it breathes but it did its job too so am thankful for that

They say, and it is true. There are those that have laid it down ( of which i belong ) and those that will lay it down. Get it over and done with and hopefully one where you can walk away from it. I lowsided mine.

Glad you are ok.
