aimg.photobucket.com_albums_v92_fdrose_truck_DSCF2262.jpg

I've heard through the rumor mill that thier is a length limit on the vehicle and trailor. is it true? am i going to have issues?
thanks,

What I would do is pull your trailer with all your stuff into the campground and unload it then go drop your trailer off at the eldorado outpost which is where you get your passes, thats what I do and nobody messes with your trailer, plus its a well lit area , have you ever been to uwharrie? and do you know how to book your campsites?

Use this site:

http://www.recreation.gov

the other one is busted.

on each of the campsites view the full details and you'll see the max vehicle limit.
what some of us do is unload and then park the trailer in a spot where you can come and go easily and unhook your tow rig then move the truck next to it. Looks like yours might be a tight spot depending on which site you'll reserve.

some are bigger than others.
when you looking to reserve?

I know Janet at the campground and prolly get her number for ya and she'd be better at tellin which one you'd want.
but these get booked up pretty far in advance for the busier weekends. the website will show wether they are available or not.

Yea I would get Janets number and talk to her, if you can get campsite number 30 it is a great one and you can fit your trailer, truck, and both of your rigs

well unfortunatley i didn't look nor ask about vehicle and trailor size when i booked a month or so ago... i'm an idiot for not looking, and since everything is booked i guess i'll be leaving my trailor down at the outpost... never been but we are heading that way this weekend.

woo hoo... and thanks for the advice folks.

Without knowing what days you have the campsite reserved and what campsite for that matter there isn't a lot we can do. You may have a campsite reserved that can handle your trailer/truck. And campsites 30 plus other possibles may all ready be reserved (the 24th-26th weekend the entire campsite is just about reserved).

If you want to get in contact with Janet I would go on www.uwharrieinfo.us (its her website) and send a PM to uwharriehost (her screen name). I would advise against posting it as a thread, because she checks her PM's more often. She may be able to help you out in some way. Other wise if your campsite doesn't have enough room the option listed about leaving the trailer at the outpost is your best bet.

(And as far as getting her number goes she doesn't give it out to many people, so PM via the site is your best bet)

My wife Talked with "i think it was her" and she had informed the wife that is was booked solid this weekend... camp site 024 this weekend by the way.

thanks...

With that info and looking at the reserve site, everything is booked solid as she said. Even the non electric sites are booked. I don't have a mental image in my head of what site 24 looks like, but if I remember correctly the sites down there on that side of the loop are the pull through semi circle design. So you might...just might be able to fit the truck and trailer in there but it would be really close. I remember James one of the Zuk guys gets a site on that side that had a full size trailer plus camper etc.

But if all else fails leaving the trailer at the outpost isn't a bad idea. It will save space at your campsite among other things. Sorry couldn't be of more help, but when the campsite is booked full it doesn't leave a lot of options. Even if you were able to get her to swap you over to one of the first come first serve sites when you got there (like 31) I don't know if it would be any better than 24.

i hear ya. Thanks for the help folks... at least i know now, and we will ride around and check it out to make our next visit better on everyone. I don't want to be one of "those campers" that are rude and park their shiat in the way of others. i do believe in resoecting others...

agreed.
One word of advice: take note of which spots can hold your junk for next time and reserve WAAAY in advance.

Some CAN indeed hold your trailer and make room for your rigs unloaded.

A bit of information for your next trip. We are camping this weekend & we always get sites 37, 38, 39, 40 (if available - pull thru), 41 & 42. We get at least one extra site for parking. These sites are any where from 38' to 40' for vehicle length. Your site is only 12', but shows a 20' driveway, if I remember correctly, it is an odd shape site. Also it's in the tight spot of a curve in the loop. Some people do park by the side of the road & are in the way & makes it hard to make that turn, there was a big stump on the opposite side that I have hit in the past trying to make it through there in the dark (arriving late).

My brother gets site 37 & he is able to park his RV with tow tralier, his Jeep & his wife's car. That site is wide enough to park double at the back.

I have heard that a new FS Ranger has been giving tickets for anyone parking off the pavement of their campsite. In the past we have parked beside our trailers & campers with our trucks, not in the woods but off the pavement & I think thats over for now.

Oh yeah - by the way nice rigs & nice tow vehicle!!!! You will see some Power Strokes around our campsites!!

thanks again.... i'm sure we'll learn as we go. since tellico is off limits " :flipoff: this is a whole other situation" we'll be over their a little more often.

But hope you have fun this weekend. I will be going out there next weekend (with Lorenzo on here and others). We have sites 21,24-30,32-36, 44, and 45 between our group. But 27 & 29 we reserve first because as double sites they are huge. Used to grab 35 & 37 but the last couple years we changed over.

I hope I did not come across wrong, there is nothing wrong with the rules being inforced. Actually that's what we need because so many people ride off the trails, litter up the place & trash the bath houses, just a few things I see ever time we are at URE.
But it is hard to break old habits if you have been going to URE for years like we have & been able to get by with some of the little things. I really just wanted everyone to be aware so we all can continue to have Great Times at URE!!

thanks for all the heads up. we had a great weekend. i hope i gave all enough room going around that corner... also we had the golf cart on spinners (which is illegal their also) we'll be back and of course at a different spot so we can fit. Janet is good peeps in my book. lets you know right away how things go. perfect in my book.

Glad ya'll had a good time. Me and my buddy acctually were driving behind you guys on 49 for a while on our way down to Badin Lake. I like that CJ-5 you've got, and we were digin the spinners on the golf cart. Ultimate side biters in mud .
