been there several years in the snow and ice.
you wouldn't beleve how sloppy it gets. it's kinda
nice if theres nobody else around. the only time
iv'e seen it closed is on very wet winter weekends.
(helps if you have a brother who owns property down there).

A little more history on the area.

After some more research, there was a township in the area that even had a post office in the 1880s. From what I can gather, some of the family (father and other relatives) lived in the immediate area. So it seems that FC Sarratt did make it home. Dont know if he made it home alive or if his body was brought to the family.

This article talks about FC's father Noble. FC had 2 sisters, Nancy and Letitia. Nancy and her husband started the township of Nicholsonville, which seems to be where FC's gravesite is.

Interesting history, I never knew that about the area. For a day trip, lake houser has always been my go-to place. A lot of work has been done around there in the past few months, looks great compared to what it did a year ago. I'd go more often, but most of the folks I ride with have chickened out, or are being lackluster about fixing thier rig. Or, is a bigger fan of mud than hillclimbs or rock (personally, I hate mud, I've eaten more parts in mud than anything else, much less fixing a muddy-ass rig on the trail).

Anybody ever goes out and works on the trails or goes riding for that matter, hit me up. If I'm not busy I'm always more than happy to help or join!

anyone that has a chain saw, winch last time i was there. on the powerline trail the easy side there were alot of fallen tree's that needed to be moved. Wayne said it's fine of we cut up and move the fallen tree's off the trail. so if your there and notice the bypas trails being blocked clean up. or we can all get together and have a cleanup day.

one of the things that irritates the living shit outta me- some of the atv riders breaking their damn glass bottles on the trail. ( i know this is common in every offroad park) maybe we could install some litter boxes. this place is like home to me *takes me 15-20mins get get there on alt 221.

I will be willing to help in any capacity.

Come to think of it, I could nab some steel barrels from morris scrap, and I have several that are too contaminated to store fuel oil in anymore. Problem is making it out there every so often to empty them. Hell, if its an improvement, I'll make time. Some of the atv guys make a huge mess. Some are nice but I tend to stay away from them, we've almost been run over more than once, and hell, one guy on a bike hit my jeep.

We could use some, trail names. Or mile markers or something, to help tell others where we're broke down/stuck.

It's long pita walk from the bottom, of the power line back to parking lol.

That would be a problem.

That would be a problem.
We were parked off to the side of a trail, wide enough for traffic in both directions plus a little more, talking about where we wanted to head next, a few guys flew by, tapped the brakes a little and went on by. Few more, didn't even hit the brakes, and then a straggler on a bike hauling ass, hits my jeep, while I'm standing outside of it. Doesn't stop, hops back on and takes off. Didn't hardly hurt the jeep, but made me mad nonetheless. Met him on a trail as we were headed to leave and he apologized, said his brakes didn't work. Smart...

there's alot of idiots riding there. Some of the guys need to learn to slow down around parking though. the lil kids don't hit the trails so the parking area is their arena. just wait till one of them is flying by on a trail and a rig is coming up that bumper impact when the quad slams into it is gonna be nasty.

my truck is loud enough they should hear me. I just hope I dont ever have a situation where some kid gets hit. or a quad runs into me hard. more concerned about their safety more than my own.
