I have a problem area at the back corner of my house. It's the lowest spot around the house and it's the corner where the sump pump from the crawl space pumps out to.

I had an issue where when the previous owner had the fence installed, they busted the drain pipe in the ground coming from the front of the house and joins into the back corner in a French drain system.

That cause a soft wet spot. Typically I like those, but not this time.

Whenever Theres a heavy rain the sump pump and the down spout flood this area and it stays a muddy mess.

Should I go back and dig up the French drain and replace it? Or what are my options?

Two Picts here. One without markings. The other shows where the French drain runs thats still in the ground.

I also have two trees that keep this area shaded and it's on the north side of the house so not much sunshine.

If you dont wanna dig it up you can put you a hydro type flower garden back there and no have to worry about the watering part of it we did this for a fella when i was in landscaping he had a wet low spot from runoff and didnt like the dead grass and "hole" so we put river rocks on top of it filled all the gaps from the rocks in with soil and they picked out plants and flowers that live in damp environments to plant in with the rock i wish i still had pics i looks nice when finished just a thought!!!

You can use bunch of diff scents from peppermint to clove to keep the dogs out i just found out some dogs hate the smell of cinamonn, peppermint, cayenne pepper works too after they get near it first time make sure they get a big whiff or lick of some of those flavors my lab/collie runs for the hills when he smell cayenne pepper extract!! some dogs it wont bother tho gotta try few diff things till you see a major reaction from the pups then ya know you found their weak spot!!!

I thought the water garden might work for ya cause the pines on the other side of the fence are kinda a sore spot on most ppls propertys and having a corner stone water garden or flower bed might bring life to your back corner!!!
