laptop help

I have a laptop that got the screen crunched. So i bought a new screen on ebay and installed it. but now it is so dim i can barely see anything on the screen. any ideas?

sounds like the screen you ordered is faulty. Laptops (and I assume all LCD screens) use a backlight, and it sounds like thats not working right. Are you sure you plugged in the connector till it snapped?

X2 or the inverter board is bad. Maybe it got crunched to?

Most of the time it's the inverter board. Plug up the crunched screen to just the two wire. If it lights up then the inverter is good, if it doesn't the inverter is probably bad.
