Do laser distance measurers give an option to zero out a reference point, like hitting the "tare" button on a weight scale?
I have an application where we need to know the difference in distance to a series of items from a previous reference, without having to trust some bozo's basic addition/subtraction skills. To visualize, think of boxes going down a conveyer belt, one a minute. Zero out distance to first box at 0.0". Next box might be +4.6" in relation to the first, then another follows at -2.9". This is intermittent use, not continuous production. Measurements can be manually read/written/recorded.
