Just wanting to get some opinions on the pros and cons of these two vehicles. Like as far as lifting them. And driving them daily then driving off road as well pretty much just to lay out the differences besides the obvious of them being a different make and such. I know most toyotas with the 22r is reliable but don't know much about the cherokees with the 4.0 particularly with the 5 speed in it. Just let me know thanks guys.

I'm a Toyota guy so I vote for a Yota. Lifting a late 80's (86 and up) Yota is more expensive (because it's IFS) vs. the Cherrocar, however if you get too extreme, the Cherocar is just that, a car with a unibody and you will have to weld in a frame under it to keep from tearing all the suspension mounting points off the body. The Yota will be easiest to just pull the IFS off of it and do a SAS and then you have the best of both worlds. Lots of companies are making kits for this now so it's not like you have to piece it together and fab the whole thing.....unless you want to. That will be cheaper than a kit but if your fab skill are lacking this is probably your best bet. The other thing about the Jeep, anything much over 33 inch tires and lockers and the axles will need to be upgraded. It really depends on how extreme you want to go. A mild wheeler with daily driver duty, either will be fine. However once you've been bit by the wheeling bug, you'll want bigger and better all the time and then the Yota will outshine the Jeep.

Depending on what kind of wheeling you do will determine what vehicle is best. I have a 92 yota pickup on 31s that is locked front and rear. I am keeping the IFS. I wheeled every trail at URE except Daniel a few weekends ago. I drove it 2 hours to URE and 2 hours back home.

x2 on the wheeling and then determine what you like more. i can go ahead and tell you everyones choice. just look at their avatar.. lol
