All you need to do is go on AutoZone's website and put in the year of the jeep. It came right up. I plugged in a 2004 TJ:

Timken 4370N $5.99

My experience has been never to trust AutoZone's website. Napa's measurements match the old seal I have (posted above), AutoZone, not so much...
Seal Outside Diameter (in): 2.383
Seal Shaft Size (in): 1.503
Seal Width (in): 0.42

You will also need that metal slinger that goes on after the seal. Not sure if they carry them or not.
Replacing the t-case in my 99XJ, I should be able to pull this metal slinger from the old 231, right? thanks for the heads up. I haven't even taken out the rear driveshaft yet.

I have never had a slinger come off that easily before. But with some patience, you should be able to reuse it.
Take note to the order in which the snap ring, spacer and slinger come off. Gimme a call if you need to Tony.

well that was a PITA. I bootyfabbed some extensions for my 2 jaw puller, hosed the slinger/seal cover with PBlaster then started pulling. It didn't want to come off, I had to break out the hammer and chisel to beat it off. I tried to be careful, rotating the output after a few hits. Finally got it off, might have to bang it flatter to reinstall.
