I wasn't disappointed by the finale, but I wasn't impressed either. I was really expecting Negan to show up before the end. Sometimes the show moves a t a good pace and then sometimes it runs really slow. This season was slow IMO.
 
The whisperer are who im expecting next season, neegan will come later

I agree the last couple episodes where they are in one place seem a bit slow in comparison, but when you look back at the season, a LOT has happened.

Start at Terminus. Discover that Carol can become Rambo's twin sister. We see how a locked church can keep out swarms of walkers, walkers floating in a canned food storage do NOT in fact make a good stew and that Hunters really do like Shish-ka-BOBs. We learn that hospitals are not where you want to stay when the world goes all zombie-apocalypse. Fire Trucks can be very useful as a zombie plow and cleanup on Aisle 6. Lying about your background even with the best intentions and eloquent geek-speak will get people killed. Going home will get people killed. Daryl finds Beth, Daryl carries Beth. Dogs are a tasty meal, even if the collar freaks you out. Don't drink the water. Don't drive at night. Get behind a wall. Get a good look at the wall. Meet the people behind the wall and hit on the pretty girl that is married to the abusive husband who takes care of your friend when she gets hurt when the guy shoots the zombie in body armor and grenades. Ride the revolving door of death. Get carjacked. Be nice anyway. Make casseroles. Enjoy a dinner party with potato puffs and beer. Watch Carl and Enid sitting in a tree (k.i.s.s.i.n.g.) Enjoy Rick's total freak out. Enjoy Sasha's total freak out. Enjoy Gabriel's total freak out. Leave the gate open. Sit around the fire and talk about Rick. Watch Rick choke a walker. Watch Reg choke. Watch Pete choke on a bullet.
