I didn't know exactly where to put this so I figured I put it here. If the mods feel other wise then by all means feel free to move it.

The wife and I brought our house about 6 years ago. It was new build and the lawn/grass wasn't so great so needless to say I have been at it for 6 years to get some grass growing.
I tried myself and even did what lawn/landscaping business suggested with no luck. Then before last year I had Chemlawn treating it for the past 2 years and THEY FREAKEN SUCK!!!
I paid them $75 per treatement and 450 to aireate and sow and it was the sadest job I'd ever seen. Even called them back and had them redo it with no luck.

So on NC4x4 on day and someone started a thread about their lawn. I read it and saw a post by Guffey24 telling them to contact him that his line of business was lawns. So I sent Guffey24 a PM asking him for his help. So far  I've got more grass coming up and my lawn is starting to looks a heck of a lot better. I'm also in Tennessee and he has helped out on shipping supplies to me.

I ordered some fertilizer last week and thought he had my info $$$$ wise to be able to bill me and ship it. I got an email yesterday stating that he need my info so he could bill me but had already sent out the supplies.

NOW THIS IS HOW A BUSINESS SHOULD BE RUN!!!! Always taking care of your customers!!

I'm about 2-2 1/2 hours away so the next time I'm needing some stuff I may take a short road trip!

I just wanted to give an ATTA BOY for Jason and his company! I'd recommend him to anyone!

Thanks

Mike,

Thanks for the kind words, I have tons of homeowners that are doing the same thing, I set them up with a simple program, easy to follow month to month applications, the average lawn can be kept super nice for under $500 a year

One of the biggest mistakes people make is buying stuff from the (box) stores, lowes, home depot, and wally world, THEY SELL JUNK!!!!, most of it is last years stuff, and most has saw dust as the filler, check the dates on anything you buy from them

also these big companies like Chemlawn, use about half the amount of product they should be using, thus using half product they make there money off people, with a system called call backs, if you call them they charge you a service charge to come back out, these guys loose 1000 customers a month and gain 1200 customers a month

anyway thanks for the post

I won't let guffey or anyone else near my lawn. In fact, ill kick someone's butt if they make my grass grow quicker! I grew up on a golf course and our lawn looked better. I swore when I got my own house I'd spray it with gasoline if it needed mowed more than on e a week.

^^^^^^^

I'm with this guy! "Slow growin' and easy mowin'" is how I want my lawn described. I've got a good crop of crabgrass going, and I'm gonna keep it that way!

On topic: I'm glad to hear something like this. Guffey, kudos to you for handling business the way it should be. And Mike, trust me. It means a lot to a business owner to hear feedback. Good or bad, but especially good.

I don't want to have to mow every 3 days but I'm tired of everytime I walk out in the yard after a rain I've got red clay mud on my shoes! Plus I just really like a nice looking yard!

you wont have to mow it every 3 days, we use slow release fertilizers, that release as the plant needs it, so you get a nice steady grow, no crazy growth spurts

yeah, I grew up on a golf course, but I was growing the grass for them, 15 years as a golf course superintendent

well its definately not crabgrass your looking at right now, the first frost turned that crabgrass brown, it goes dormant just like bermuda grass does in the winter:flipoff2:

I've been working with Guffy (Josh) now since the end of last year on my lawn and he's got it looking awesome!

Again, any lawn care issues or needs you all need to talk to him. He's done a great job so far with my lawn.

With the past few weeks of hot dry weather it's not looking all that great but I'm watering and it's turning around.

Here's some before and after pics of the work in progress.
