This is a leaf pack from the front of my Jeepster. They are Alcan Springs built in about 2005. They are too tall and unload severely when I get the rig close to verticle. My shackles as they are now are completely vertical. I'm hoping to flatten them to lower the front end a couple inches.
I laid the assembled pack on the floor and drew a line around it and then dissassembled it and did the same for each individual leaf except for the one with the clamps on it.
I'm thinking that I'm going to de-arch the front of the springs about 3 inches. I'll do this to the main and military wrap leafs and maybe the third one. I'll leave the rest alone.
What do you think my results will be? OR how much should I bend them?
