leafs in the front of an xj

id go with reverse shackles while your doing it... an btw the stock XJ shackle should fit right up into the LCA mount on the frame... just make a new front crossmember with the spring perches on them....

also if he runs explorer, s10, or XJ leaves up front, he will haveta make new hangers front and rear, cuz theyre longer then you have room...

if you want to use the mounts on the frame such as billavista did, then youll need something around the length of a YJ or maybe waggy leaf

heres his writeup incase you haevnt seen it:
http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/Leafspring_conversion/leafs.htm

hes using stock YJs in front with AALs, and its giving him around 7" of lift, so u might wanna consider how much more or less another type of spring may give you

thanks paradisePWoffrd, i have seen that link before. 7"-8" is about how much lift i am looking for so if thats what the stock YJ leafs give then that is probably what i will go with.

as far as the front hangers go, me and eric, OrangeTJ, are going to build a front bumper that i can mount the hangers on. if stock xj shackles will mount into the lower control arm brackets then i will do shackle reversal on the front.
