Leaking exhaust valve..seafoam?

Finally found my stupid dead miss at idle (runs great otherwise) in my rig today after so many tests I did the dollar over tailpipe trick (thanks @Jody Treadway ). So that's my issue!
Will seafoam fix this...or can I run it for this weekend's trip...or pull the head and polish everything up? Thanks guys

If its sticking because of carbon build up, seafoam will help. If the valve or seat are burnt it will do no good. Driving it with a leaky valve will cause it to burn the valve worse.

When its cold its more noticeable, once engine is at temp hardly notice it..carbon?

don't drive too long or this will happen , I was able to save the seat , guy at the parts counter looked confused when I asked for 1 exhaust valve and 1 head gasket.

Yeah I agree so I pulled the head, #3 is pretty carboned up but several others right behind it, got it all cleaned up and heading to get parts. Thanks for the help guys. Just didn't make since to chance it and really do something stupid (let that be in the drivers LOL)

it will sound like a helicopter going down the road , It sounds like you already diagnosed it , but this is what I did 10 years ago

ran a compression test , 120.120.60.120 ... so I knew it was #3 , spun #3 to TDC , ziptied a rubber glove to the exhaust , carb and crankcase vent , put compressed air in the cylinder and heard the glove on the tailpipe glove pop like a ballon

Well swapped heads all together since I had good one..still same dam problem..WTH..checked injectors with noid light all good on harness side, #6 however didn't change idle when I unplugged it like all the others.
(Rocker arms went back in same order but push rods I did not as I never have since they're all the same)
Sooo bad #6 injector or pull valve cover and remove #6 push rods (maybe one slightest bend??)

Have you checked compression and/or leakdown on #6. Just because pulling the injector harness doesn't change the idle doesn't mean it is the injector. Just means that is your bad cylinder, could be ignition problem or compression problem as well.

Do you have spare injectors to swap in? That's the easiest place to start.

That's what I did and behold that injector is CLOGGED like crazy..woooohhoooo finally lol.
Thanks guys

cool deal john. don't ya hate it when it's something simple like that.
Yeah I love it but I hate it too..half the time I forget to check things like injectors, they just aren't as common to go. At least now I have new head gasket, polished valves and power band was really strong.
