i have a 98 Cherokee and every time we get a decent day-long rain up here in Boone, i get a nice little puddle of rainwater in my passenger-side floorboard. i have only seen it actually drip once and it was coming from right behind the glove box, near the floor light. nothing in the glove box is wet and i cant seem to find anything else that is wet, other than the carpet. has anyone had an issue with this or know what i can do to stop it (other than buying a car cover or tarp)?
thanks,
Geoff

mine leaks too but i'm pretty sure its because my doors come off and i'm not getting the seal i used to. You sure it only happens when it rains? coming from there it sounds like it could be the heater core.

I have the same problem. I was driving one day and on the windshield pillar had had water drip from the little hole. I guess the windshield must be leaking somewhere which makes sense since it makes some noise on the road. I also have a small rust hole in the floor.

I had the same leak, only it turned into a big rusty hole in my floorboard. It turned out to be the seal around the blower motor coming through the firewall. When I fixed my floor, I took the time to find the leak. If you look under the hood on the passenger side, you will see the blower motor. There is a ledge right under the blower motor that water will sit and if the blower motor isn't sealed good, the water will leak in. Good luck!!

yeah, i was trying to find out what it so i could prevent the big rusty hole. i am 99% sure its rainwater because there is always a TON of it, it backs up high enough to flow into the backseat. the shopvac has gotten a workout, thats for sure. ill check to see if i can find anything with the windshield seal, that would make sense
thanks for the input,
Geoff

There's a tube in the housing that allows water to drain when it comes in through the cowl vent. They are notorious for clogging up and allowing water to seep into the passenger floorboard. Just look under the hood on the firewall below the ... well not sure on your year model, but on my old '88 there was the coolant tank above the drain hose. Use a coat hanger to clean it ou. BTW, this applies to ALL Jeeps.
