Leaky Transfer Case!

Need more info.

Where on the TC is the leak?
output shafts?
between the case halfs?
Where is hooks to the tranny?
the drain plug?

input seal is a cheap fix, if you do it yourself that is.

I have an 89 which originally came with a a/t, but I soon found out was swapped with a 5spd.. need to get it checked out

Anyone is the RDU or surrounding with tools, knowledge and a location willing to replace seal in my NP207 transfer case?

Will pay in cash, beer or food...:Rockon:

silicone between the trans and transfer case is not a good idea.
if it has an output shaft seal on the trans and an input shaft seal on the t-case there is no reason for silicone. what happens when you silicone it is, it masks the fact that one of the seals is leaking, when it sucks all the fluid out of the trans or t-case and you burn it up, then where are you. granted it didn't leave a spot in your driveway, but it cost alot more than the seals.

if you pull the t-case, it's best to replace the rear seal in the trans and the front seal in the t-case at the same time.

It is not bad to pull the Tcase. remove Dshafts, remove trans mount bolts on bottom of skid (3), block tranny up, remove skid plate(6 bolts), unhook speedo and vacum plug, pop off tcase linkage arm, remove 6 bolts on Tcase ( top one a little hard to get to) pull off tcase.
