Does anybody know of a leather craft shop in central NC that will do some custom work? or maybe somebody here is a hobbyist?

I know some folks far-off, but this needs to be hands-on.

(And no, it's not "that" kind of leather goods!)

I've also heard of that place in Ramseur.. I was going to buy a perf tool for my motorcycle leathers, and was told to go there for all kinds of stuff///

thanks, i *finally* found them on the internet last night. I'll give them a try.
Try Tandy Leather Factory in raleigh and I know they got more stores all over 919-981-0021 or 1-888-812-0010
They have the best prices I have found.
If you need help I do a lot of leather work All hand made.
most for the knifes I make and belts and junk for my Civil War group.

Our Sgt. Major makes killer belts and cartridge boxes his own self.As much as QUALITY stuff costs from suttlers,I don't believe I'd be calling the ones you make junk.I hate to know I had to make all the harnesses and such for our own horse drawn artillery unit that brigades with us.

not sure what you need, but i am an upholsterer. i build with leather daily. only hi-end work. very expensive. anything i can help with?

I got a Walther USA PPK/s, need a pocket holster for it, and really don't like what I've found. I pretty well have an idea of exactly what I want, and it's not fancy at all, pretty simple. (I made my own for my P3AT with a single piece of leather and four rivets, so you get the idea.)

Let me know if you need help those are easy I make them for PP's and 36 S&W I will look for a picture.
I know the guy at the leather shop and we can go in there get what you need and build it in there I would bet. All your talking about is a wet mold fold over with a flat bottom and rough out so it stays in the pocket or rough out on one side. Hand sewing is better and will not wear on your leg or cloths but you can use brass smooth side 2 way rivets if you want.

daggum, I just had a long post written and lost it. :(

I had a service call in Siler City today, and got over to Zack White's. I picked up some various leather out of the scrap bins.

I got a simple one knocked out, much like the Galco posted above.

I played around with some more ideas tonight. (With superglue and rubber bands!) I can't afford to print. I want something that will hide the gun's obvious "L" shape. (I usually wear Carharts with big pockets, but when pulled tight, as when sitting, it really shows). I'm working on something to pad out the open space to make it a full rectangle, with a heavy leather outer square, kinda like the back-pocket or convertable holsters.

Maybe if I get something decent worked up I will post a pic.
