So the wife was just in an accident, the woman infront of her for some unknown reason (she apparently barely spoke English), rolled backwards into my wife's Jeep. My wife had to get out of the Jeep and tell the woman to put her parking brake on.
The cop seems to have written it as a no-fault situation, judging from the wife, he didn't want to deal with it, "he got in his car, said good luck, rolled up his window and left".
He told her, in this situation, typically both parties insurance pays for the other vehicle....ours is a 97 XJ, hers is a 2013 Hyundai, I am not inclined to pay for repairs for her vehicle that she claimed...
Any advice? Claim it, will insurance go up? I don't want to fix my jeep on my dime, just to then have to pay insurance premium mark-ups for this.
I told the wife to call the cops, so this woman couldn't claim later that we were at fault, I guess that didn't work out.....I guess a dash cam is in our future.
