anyone ever had a Leonard trailer? anybody ever knew anybody who had one and had problems with it? i went and looked at some today and they seem reasonably priced and well built but i got to thinking and realized that i don't think i have ever seen anybody with one, and wondered if there was a specific reason for that.
any thoughts?

well, i am guessing since there has been no resonse that there aren't that many people that own them...that being said, it looks like alot of people on here buy either Kraftsman or Kaufman...why, what makes them better?

Kreg, we have the Kraftsman for our goose and it is a very well built trailer. I havent heard of the Leonard but i would just compare the matrials and options from each company. I doubt you will have trouble out of either. From our experience Kaufman was more expensive than the Kraftsman for the same trailer (atleast at the time of our purchase). I want to say the owners of Kraftsman and Kaufman are brothers, or are related in some way.

thanks sam, i did some more research today and seems like the kaufman trialers are pretty reasonably priced, i am going to call about the kraftsman in the morning...hopefully it will be about the same
i'm gettin close now, hopefully we'll be :driver: soon... and then i have to start on finding a new tow rig, so i can get there fast like you, haha, the old 6.9 will pull the house down but you better get used to being passed by old ladies with walkers...

I was amazed when I looked under your tow rig. It may be in the best condition for its age that I've ever seen. You might not go 80 on the highway but you'll be on the trails and I'm looking forward to that.

Are you going to Crozet with us?

I think i know 3 or 4 people who would give their left nut to have a tow rig at all haha. Better than driving right?

oh yea, it beats the crap out of driving...lord knows i have had my battles with that...:shaking:

i've never owned a leonard trailer, but have bought several other items from them and been very impressed with quality. That being said, kraftsman and kaufman have reasonable prices. We bought our gooseneck from Appalachian Manufacturing. So far it's been a good one, and we saved $600 over the kaufman even after driving to Ohio to get it.

It doesn't look like there is much savings on the single car trailers though.
