My old friend Chip aka @upnover has a beloved dog named "Sweetie"
She was attacked by some stray dogs on Monday, tore her ass up good.
He's not able physically or financially to bring her back to health.
The decision was made last night to bring her to Compton for rehab until she's ready to go home.
My GF and her daughter have her at the vet now and it's not gonna be cheap or fast.

So if you can spare a few bucks to help our brother out, i appreciate it.
I'd save every dog on the planet if i could afford it ya know...

Quick update.
Heather has a hookup at the animal hospital of Cornelius. {she used to work there}
The owner has agreed to fix Sweetie up at cost!
Appointment is at 11:30am tomorrow.

And thanks to all of you that have generously donated to the cause, we have over $1000 to fight with.
Chip choked up when i told him this news.

I'll post a copy of the bill tomorrow to show what ya'll helped support.
Damn awesome job guys, i appreciate it.

Update on "Sweetie"
Today it was determined by the Vet, that a lot of daily care would have to be given to Sweetie and her injuries. And given her age and her already debilitated condition, and the fact that she would probably not have a very good outlook for a good life or life expectancy, the decision was made to end her life peacefully. I loved this animal, but in no way shape or form wanted to put her through any more suffering than she already has experienced, and not to have a "happy" ending to this. Rest in peace my friend. I will find another furry friend, and will tell him or her all about you. Thanks for all the love you have shown since we met. Happy trails.

So Sorry to hear this Chip. That is a very hard thing to have to do, but ultimately you made the right decision. She was definitely a great dog!

Bear with me, it's been a rough day...

Loaded up the pooch and made the hour trip to the vet. Superstar staff!
Vet checked her out, wounds were far more severe than we realized. The neck injury was almost to her spinal cord.
That along with her pre existing conditions made the choice clear.
So I called Chip and put it on speaker while Dr. Jackson explained it to him.
He made the right decision. And a tough decision at that.
I held Sweetie as she took her last breath. Being at the top of the food chain sucks sometimes, but Chip is one my closest friends.

I'll know what the visit will cost when I pick up her ashes later this week.
The question is what to do with the rest of the money donated.
@BigSouth and I are going to donate our part to Chip in cash for when he feels like adopting another pooch.
If any other donor agrees to that, let me know.
If you want a refund, I'll do that also. Shoot me a PM.

From my heart, thanks to all that donated to the cause!
Damn awesome!

Paul out.

@Paul if you don't mind, tell these fine folks the details that you told me. As in about her not being able to eat this morning due to lab work, and the employee giving her some food before the procedure. Also the name of this clinic. You said top notch, but from all you have told me, I think they are way above that!
