Let's see your garage space!

I formed up a 14x30 pad in front of the shop yesterday and upon completion…the right garage door cables got bound up. It’s no fun lowering a giant garage door without the helping spring

Garage door guys came next day and fixed it under warranty.

Concrete sucks. I’m tired.

@silver cj-7 hope you post a follow up. I’ve been warned away from those lifts with the stuff running across the floor. Several people have said it gets in the way.
I only went with it because it gave me maximum lift height and all the ones that crossed over the top had a higher ceiling height requirement than what I have. That was the first of my many unforeseen mistakes made when I planned the garage. What I’ve heard they get in the way when using transmission jacks and oil catch carts. Not having much experience with the other style two post lifts I’m sure I’ll get around it ok. It’ll sure beat crawling on my knees around on the ground and concrete.

Those are the same things I was told. My ceiling in Hartsville is right at 12’. The lifts with overhead crossover lines all seem to be around 12’ x inches. Now that I’m looking at building a shop here in Camden I’ll make sure the walls are at least 14’.

Farm shop is always a work in progress. About the only time I get to work on it for extended time is rain days. Those have been few and far between this year.

Dug the old ECORS banner out to let it sit out all week and try and straighten out.

Got to work on cleaning off all those old work benches. One of which apparently has a bandsaw mounted to it with the motor underneath the table. All of the benches are cleared off now.

Went on a side quest and turned an old cart I had stashed behind the airplanes (scroll back a few pages if you’re new) into a welding cart.

All of the lumber is moved and tomorrow I’ll try and get the little dump trailer out and start loading up all the scrap bs under the tables. Once that’s out of the way I’ll figure out how I want to lay out the tables, drill presses and bench grinders.

Man that looks like the kinda place that has anything you could ever need but nothing you can ever find.

You would be correct. My FIL knew where everything was. I know once I find it 😂

How do you scrap a roller fairlead? I can't even bring myself to scrap a hawse fairlead.
Funny enough that’s the one thing I went back and forth on.

Option 1: Spend 45 minutes finding c clips to hold the one roller in that is missing them, then dig up hardware to mount it to something.
Option 2: say I’ll fix it later and forget about it and move it eleventy hundred more times. Consider selling it to one of you knuckleheads and realize I’ll burn more in fuel meeting someone than I’ll make on it.
Option 3: yeet it into the scrap pile before I waste any more time.

Really I did think about keeping it since I found a winch mount and receiver I’ll weld onto the front of the bumper pull trailer. But I need a winch…and it will come with a new roller fairlead with all bolts and parts I need. 😂

Safety wire or BFH will fix that, but that's also how you end up with a shop that looks more like the before pic than the after pic haha!

Dang I was just looking for a roller failed in the for sale section…..
Then remembered I have like 3 that I put somewhere but don’t remember were. Maybe I’ll find them with the bushhog.

That's always my favorite way to find things haha

I pulled a roller from the trailer one so there is a roller with clips in the bed of my truck probably.

I'll help you and everyone sleep better at night.

I have a roller fair lead sitting in my garage that needs to go away too
I'll bring it to the GTG and give it away to whoever wants it

I could use it to sit in a 5 gallon bucket with the winch cable I'll never use.
Its been sitting in a pile with a broken Ramsey 7500 and mess of tangled cable for a decade now. A bucket would be an upgrade.
Or if I bring it to @1stgenxxx that will guarantee he'll find his others
