Leveling my truck

Hey y'all, I got a couple questions. I've got a 2004 GMC Canyon with torsion bars. I'm going to level it (3" torsion bar crank in the front and 2" shackles in the rear), but I've been having some trouble deciding what size tires would be best. With the setup I'm goin to run I can fit 33's, butim not tryin to scrub. My second option would be to run 32's. If y'all have any suggestions, I'd love to hear em. Preciate it!

Yes. You are simply adding spring rate by cranking the bars. You will also put the ball joints and CV axles at an angle that they werent designed to operate at full time. You will end up with almost no downtravel and the uptravel will take a lot of force since you are effectively adding spring rate.

What kind of wheeling do you do?

That makes sense. I knew it would put the CV axles at an angle n put stress on em, but I didn't know it would effect the ride all that much. I don't do too much wheelin since my truck is 2wd, but I do like riding powerline trails and any kind of trails

Since it is 2wd, I wouldnt do anything to it except maybe a tire 1 size larger. Be careful riding powerline trails. 99% of that is illegal and gives the 4x4 community a black eye.

I would just run bigger tires, but I want it to sit level without having to spend a bunch of money on a leveling kit when I can just crank the tb's...that was just my thoughts on it. If there's somethin better that I could do, lemme know if you can think of any. The only powerlines I even ride are open without any posted signs. Before I ride em I walk around em to make sure there's no signs. Preciate the help brother

Even without posted signs, the power company's right-of-way is protected. Please dont ride on anybody's property without their written permission. All it takes is one phone call from a property owner or treehugger and law enforcement will be on their way.

As for leveling your truck, I dont know of any other way to level a torsion bar suspension other than cranking the bars or changing the "key" at the end of the bar. Either way, it will change the spring rate of the suspension and alter the factory geometry of your front end.

Yeah, that's true. I'll do my best to stay away from em man. I think I might crank my tb's and if I don't like how it rides, I'll crank em back down and figure something else out. Soy, I'm a little hard headed lol. I do like it when I get good advice tho. I really appreciate all the help
