I keep hearing about this place in Lexington that people go to on Sunday afternoons. They say it's open to anyone. I'm a little behind on the times, haven't been in the "mud" in about 10 years. Just bought a Jeep and I'm ready to play. Can anybody help me out. I saw pictures on here from the past, some of the holes look deep, some shallow, can you tell me what it's like now? I have a Cherokee with a 5" lift & 35's.

Glad to see you found the site and are looking to get back into wheeling.

Here is a complete list of all the Legal places to wheel

The place your referring to is most likely private land, If so make sure you have permission from the land owner before going there. If its a place that someone said its ok to wheel there, might want to be sure and not get a large fine among other tickets.

If you like mud, Uwharrie is not far from you, they have some nice mud holes along with a nice trail system to ride. For $5 a day you can't beat it.

He's talking about the Lexington Mud Pits. I haven't been there but I do know it exists. I believe it's $5 a day to ride. There's also a new place in Salisbury that recently opened. I'll see if I can find the info on it.

Update:

Salisbury Mud Pits: (coming from facebook post of Ricky Bobby)
"If you head out 150 towards Jake Alexander it is right before you get to Rowan Mills Road. Take a right and go down and over the railroad tracks and it's on the left."

Lexington Mud Pits: (can't find exact info)
- Somewhere between Salisbury and Greensboro off of I85. I assume it's in Lexington..:p It is owned by the Kerleys.
Best info I could find: http://www.noas4x4club.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1656

Hit up Ricky Bobby and he can give directions to both places.

if you haven't found out already its on business 85 N not to far from the community college its 5 a day to ride from what i've heard, i've yet to bring myself to do all that cleaning

if you need anymore info just let me, ricky, and im sure theres others that can tell you

aren't the mud pits in lexington sorta down behind the fair grounds? i haven't been there, but thought i saw some trucks out playin' one day while driving up 85 bus

when going doen bus. 85 you go past the waffle house and it splits into 64 e to te right or you can go under the bridge to go bus.85 north go past davis chevrolet and before you get to old us 29 (that leads to turner rd.) you'll turn right on commercial blvd or if going past you can see the pit through the trees on the right. this is before dccc

i guess its kinda behind the fairgounds but they are on the other side of the road and back behind the waffle house
