HUH? I got a new plate last week, and it still looks the same

Apparently they are sending out Red Numbered/Lettered plates to all NC residents here in the next few months.

My guess that it probably has something to do with the Speed Trap cameras. I can see red as being alot eaiser to read then the blue we have now, although the red does look like crap.

the question was clearly stated....why? i did see one earlier today and i think it was easier to read, maybe thats the reason.

Yea, I noticed one the other day and was wondering if it was just a dealer thing. (Dealer tag). Guess it's not. Are they replacing EVERYONES tags or just when you get new ones? (Seems like a [normal] waste of money to replace them all.)

there was a blurb about it in the Charlotte Observer the other day...

seems NC has the second oldest plate design in the US...25 years old...(Delaware's design is from 1962)...

the NORTH CAROLINA lettering...the Wright Brother's plane...and the sea grass stays...just changing the main lettering from blue to red...
