I bought a 1999 jeep cherokee with a new 4.5" ROUGH COUNTRY LIFT KIT and trans drop kit with new rear springs all ready installed. Is there anything else i need for it that does not come in the kit, also does the drive shafts need to be made longer. Never had a xj and so far love it.

Thanks for any input, steven

for a 4.5" lift you should be ok with what came in the kit. Take a look at your front pinion angle and make sure you don't need adjustable upper control arms. (assuming the lower arms are fixed length) A drop pitman arm might be in order at that height too. I'd say its borderline at that height. Driveshaft length should be ok but if you want to get rid of that transfercase drop kit, look into a SYE kit and CV rear driveshaft. It will be much stronger and you'll gain the ground clearance you lost with the drop kit.

I ran a 4.5" for a long time and never had any driveline problems or actually any major problems just because of the lift. At that amount of lift there is nothing else required except for what came with the kit. You should be fine. If you go any higher than that though, plan on putting in some money cause that is where you'll run into major issues.
