Light bar mounting

Who has a light bar mounted more or less on the hood right in front of the wipers? How well does it work? Is it to low? Does it REALLY need to be on the roof???
 
Get it to the front of the rig. Way less glare than over the hood

Not sure how I can get it closer to the front...don't want to mount it on the hood. I thought about mounting in the grill, but then the light will be blocked partly by the bumper... I can make some brackets for the roof but I don't want to deal with the wiring.. plus you know how I have a tendency to break stuff!!!! Lol

Before wiring or mounting it, put it where you're thinking, run temp wires, turn out the lights or go outside at night and see how the lighting looks. You'll see what we mean about the glare
