When wiring up a fusebox and relays for lights (fogs, driving, eventually rock lights), is there an advtantage to placing the fuse block and relays outside vs inside?
On one hand, I like the "cleanliness" of having the block inside the cabin, relays as well, mayeb right close to the switches. But this also means the higher guage output wires have to run back out the firewall, and you need a heavy gauge coming in to feed the block (lets say 4-6 terminal block)... OTOH, if block/relays are outside, then that limits the hefty wire, but both control wires (to/from) for each light have toi run out to the block/relays.

Inside is more protected from moisture and temperature extremes (though this is somewhat negligible in importance compared to moisture)

If you are concerned about it.....mount it inside. You can run one 10ga wire into a universal fuse block and then feed your relays into that. Under the hood is not a bad place if you get good connectors for your relays. Its kinda up to you but i would probably mount them under the hood just cause its easier than laying on your back underneath the steering column.
