he was toppin off the coolant, forgot to replace the cap (d'oh!) and drove it, overheated and lost most of the coolant. he had to get to work so he parked it, when he came back, it turned over but wouldnt fire.

any ideas?

obviously the battery is fine or it wouldnt spin the motor.

its an 89 4.0L, are any ignition components heat sensitive?

ideas?

hes goin to check fluids and such now...

yeah im hopin thats not it. he was goin to check on it yesterday, he left it parked at work. he was gonna check the fluids and plugs, i havent heard an update yet.

He should get it towed to your house, and halfway disassemble it there. Work for me when mine overheated...

haha matt. i was thinkin about that, funny stuff. he actually towed it up to my shop, im sure it will sit there for awhile.

i havent even had a chance to look under the hood, all this rain :(

how involved is a CPS on the 4.0?

(edit) oh excellent, it looks like the CPS is external, bellhousing mounted, and advance has it for $33

well it was just corrosion on the plug wires. changed em out, doing great. i love it when things are simple!
