Exactly. I fully intend to have the winch up front to pull the front axle in on my new buggy. I'd like to have a 3000 lb winch in the back as well (but for a buggy that will weigh about 2K lbs, it could be used for extraction if need be)

This is an excellent idea for shackle reversed rigs. If I end up keeping leaf springs in the front for another season I will definitely give this a try...
