Lincoln idealarc ac/dc 250 worth buying??

found one for $300 I see they sale for 2400$ what's the catch? Should I jump on this? It's 375lbs

If it's constant current it's single phase correct? I can essentially buy a nice generator to run this as mobile unit couldn't I?

Constant current means that when you set the current (amperage) the machine keeps the output at that setting when welding.

Constant current is for tig and stick
Constant voltage is for mig
If you see a machine that says cc/cv then it's set up for both.

Figure another $250- $300 for an Argon tank and $100- $300 for a torch setup plus leads, stinger, ground cable, etc

Obviously I have a lot to learn! Lol I'm enrolling in classes this fall to start into the welding world, I personally love doing it it's sorta fun/gratifying so why not learn it fully to be better at it? I've never had training just taught the heavier the hotter and thrown a 7018 rod and a tractor rim to weld to another rim haha bet I burnt 100 rods that next few weeks just trying diff stuff been hooked since!
