Story:
Coming back from Fuquay-Varina I get some gas right outside of town. A few minutes later I start to hear a knock, but I assume its just the sound of the hood vibrating to a different tune...its a damn beaten to shit car haha. Check Engine line comes on and I pay that no mind, because every time the Celica is on a trip at high speeds (past 60) as the MAF on Celica's are known for the faulty MAF sensor and it always trips when there is so much airflow.

I got home and popped the hood to hear the knock continue. Checked the oil and she was dry as hell, which was strange considering I topped her off about a month and half ago and there have been know leaks what so ever; that I've checked for. Knocking seemed smoother after putting more oil in, so I took it for a trip to New Bern (30miles). Got about 10 miles out and heared her dying and losing power...popped her in neutral and she lost all power. Towed her back to my place and here she is.

SOOO bad gas or dry motor? I can't imagine the motor being fully try...just doesn't make sense. I tried siphoning the fuel, but I damn nearly puked and definitely got stoned off my ass. Can't get the tube (thin) deep enough into the tank to drink fuel off the bottom, plus she low as shit...hard to get lower than a tank that sits on the ground.

Thanks for any help!

What you've got there is a spun bearing on more than one cylinder. Hear the two different knocks? Time for a new engine. It probably has a bad pcv valve or something and it burned all the oil, or the rings are bad and it burned all the oil. Either way, that engine is toast.

ya shes fubared no doubt about that, one knock is a rod the other sounds like something cam related higher pitched

ya know what makes me sad...damn Geo metro has the same 1zzfe motor and people still want sick $$$ for it. hahahaha

knock

sounds like you Hot rod has acouple Hotter rods in it.
definetly a rod knock. you really should check you oil more often. and always before a long trip. just my two cents
