Finally gave the worn TSLs some grip. Didn't go all out like I used to (time?!?!) but should grip pretty good aired down.
I kinda miss the fun of it but my hand and back won't allow me to go more than full day lol.
The center section will do later with router or skill saw (4 blades together gives good fast 1/2" cut)...both those much quicker

I'm too chicken to try the chainsaw blade for grinder:D:p:beer:

Substitute "smart" for "chicken". If you're taking about Lancelot wheels, I wouldn't get within 3 miles of grabby tire rubber with one of them, unless you're looking to accidentally lose a few pounds somewhere on your body.
Yeah probably right..one of my smarter decisions lol. Tempting though when I had it in my hand... should I.. should I not

Decided to

try one tire hitting the center.. freaking awesome

funny cuz I actually said to myself if I were to use this thing I have to build me some kind of sheet metal chest plate LMBO

Having grooved old hard tsls and ltbs, no damn thanks. I imagine you can feel your forearms now.
Nope..my back and my carpel tunnel lol. Done for now.

No lateral hold with that pattern. Stay off them off camber hills!

Huh.. what the what

Side hills = slide sideways....damn you, Newton, for inventing gravity! Main reason why a lot of folks don't run Boggers on some of the crazy cool wheeling adventures that some of y'all do (and I wish that I could lol). Great for straight lines in mostly flat stuff...once you get a combat lean going on, all bets are off.

Well maybe but I've had this thing on pretty off camber stuff and tires did as expected. Now they'll really give me grip. Every TSL or thornbird I've groover like this grips amazing so I don't know about all that science stuff with "boggers" type tread but I've nothing but awesome results from this type of tread sharpening. The rest is whatever cause with welded front and rear, wide footprint and 119" wheelbase my happy butt be sliding on off camber hills anyways LMBO but now at least I can gain traction to get my happy butt moving hehe.

What they’re trying to explain to you is the tread pattern of a bogger, and what you have carved up here, only has traction in a forward facing scenario. Being locked, we all slide some on off camber hills, but with that tire or a bogger it’s far far worse.

You’ve basically carved out paddle tires in a sense going East to west, so if you carve out about 2-3 notches of each “paddle” north to south that will help give lateral traction, and also help with forward because you will have more biting edges.

It grabs less into rubber than wood.

It’s less sketchy than cutting thin material with a thin cut off wheel.

Keep the guard on the grinder, and use the side handle to keep a firm grip.

This is from someone who actually uses them to groove tires.

Ah hell yeah it's on ...that's stupid quick. Gotta get me one now
