Hey everybody.

I'm curious as to how much it would cost to upgrade my axles and etc in a shop, as opposed to doing it myself.

I have a 93 yj jeep wrangler.

Wanting to go to dana44, at least a 4.10 , and some kind of locker or positrak or something. havent decided.

also need gearing for the front.

Where is a good shop anywhere around the triad area that would/could do this, and about how much would it run?

same job, approximately how much could I do it for myself?

(or 8.8 is an option too...)

Thanks!

for a YJ, an 8.8 would be your best/cheapest route. You can find them with 4.10s and a limited slip already. You would just have to regear/lock the front to match. I can do it, shoot me a pm and i can give you a rough estimate. I dont know where kernersville is, but check around some local shops.

We do a ton of 8.8s and I keep some in stock here with various ratios and LSDs.

Give me a shout and we ca discuss pricing.

You can buy the axles for around $200-400 each. Gears, figure $250. Lockers cost from $250 for something like an Aussie to $500 for a Detroit. Figure $200 each for gear install labor and another $200 each to install in the rig. These are just estimates, extra charges and fees may apply, results may vary :)
