I've had this locker for like 3 years, figure its about time to put it in.
How difficult is it to put a Lock Right into a Toy IFS 7.5" front?
Instructions that came iwth it are pretty generic.
I assume the stubby side shafts have to be pulled... does the whole unit need to be dropped out of the vehicle? Or can it be done in place? I have the stub shaft studs replaced w/ bolts so moving the CVs out of the way should be no biggie.
Anybody have a write-up link?
Just wondering how big this is to tackle myself...

Is the front chunk one that splits down the middle or does it have a front cover? I know some of the later years have the split case.
When i had to replace the front spiders in my S10 all i had to do was drop the chunk, split it apart, remove the ring gear, replace the spiders, and reassemble.
there was no resetting the gears or anything of that sort since it has the threaded adjusters which made it much easier to do.

All the ones I've helped do or seen done, you pull the "diff" out of the vehicle, which really isn't that big of a deal.

once you pull the cv's you might as well drop it, the front mount has to be disconnected to get the cover off anyways, so its just 2 more bolts and d-shaft to drop it. then at least you can see it good when installing lock right, in addition to get those shafts out its easier out of the vehicle, b/c you can actually get to them, slide hammer works best.

Yeah, I know pulling it isn't a big deal,d doen i ta couple times already.
Really it's the PITA of getting it back up into place. Seems to take forest to get it all line up just right so it fits w/ the crossmember, mounts line up, etc.
I know, waaah waaah.

Really the problem is that I'd kinda like to move on up to 5.29s, but unless a used member already setup comes along it would be awhile.... which means doing this all again... so I'm debating the value of just waiting.
