Wife and kid will be gone for the weekend, fri-sun.
If I were a sane man, I would head out to Uwharrie.
Since I'm not, :handed: I'm tackling refinishing the hardwood floor in our hallway, which desperately needs done for selling the house.
Problem is (and why I haven't done it yet), thsi is a 1-story ranch house, and the hallways connects all rooms, including bathrooms. So once it is drying, I'm bed and potty-less (back yard and couch!!.

So I'm thinking about the logistics of pulling this off before they get home and will have to walk on it. It's only ~11x3', not alot of sq ft, so I'll prob just use a belt sander. Not really enough room to move a drum around.

Any specific suggestions or ideas?
Or.... anybody do this professionaly and need some work (while I go wheeling!)

pm this guy he does this for a living might give you advice. d420fazer

if you do end up doing it, make sure and pull up all the shoe molding, if you are careful with it you can re-use it. also when taking the molding out score between the molding and the wall so that you don't pull the paint or wall paper up.

Already talked to Dylan, he's not a fan of sanding (wimp, he just does the clean jobs lol)
Nice tip on teh shoe molding. NP, I put it there in the first place after removing the carpet (2" pile SHAG!) it's the cheapy styro stuff, not intended for re-use (cost of replacement negligible)

Learn from my mistake, turn off the AC before it does a great job of spreading sawdust throughout the entire house. It will get everywhere anyway, just doesn't need the mechanical help of the fan.

how bad are the floors?? call me at 828-312-4740. I have a hardwood co. and I can give you some advice. If you just need a top coat, you can walk across the floors at the end of the day!!

Simple.

1- Pull up the shoe molding and sand the floor down before you go to bed.

2- Get up early and lay down the stain/sealer/whatever. I'm assuming that you'll use a one application sort of product.

3- When you get to the end of the hallway just walk out of the house, get in your rig and drive to Uwharrie and enjoy the rest of the day. It should be dry when you get back and you can finish everything up.
