I post over at Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forum and there are a LOT of newbie and young guys there. For the most part, they are eager to learn and listen pretty well to what the older more experienced guys have to say.

This one kid made a thread about using glass, real glass shards, in a "glass pack" muffler. Myself and many others tried to explain that glass pack mufflers use fiberglass wool (or steel wool or whatever) but glass shards are not anything you would want as a muffler packing.

While there are many laughable posts there, the main gist is he made some to show us retards that he is a genius and we are fools.

I present the latest innovation is exhaust sound technology....the Real Glass Pack.

Nice welds

Ask him if he has plans for a doubler

Will be epic if he actually installs one, starts the truck, goes around back and gets an ear full of glass dust while trying to admire his awesome invention.

He says he did attach it to his header and start it up. Of course he says it sounds good.

That looks painful :kaioken:

Now someone started a troll thread about "porting" their intake and heads by introducing sand blast media into the engine while it's running.
Glass pack guy already bit. LOL

That's an old-school trolling

There was a thread that showed using your exhaust plumbed into the intake as a turbo of sorts. I bet he'd bite on that too.

As cheap as glass packs are i wouldn't even waste my time trying to make one. Unless he just thought real glass would be cooler haha

^^^Agree, total waste of time due to low cost. I have a pile of almost new but used glass packs. $15 a set shipped on your dime. Or go to your local muffler shop and ask for a used set for they remove them all the time off of old school rides to replace with mufflers. Glasspacks were cool in the 70's. This day and time, a low roar is more hip than a scream at WOT. Less noise ordinance tickets and neighbor complaints as well. With dual exhaust, I think good mufflers are now proven to produce more horses as well due to backpressure.

Well, when the whole thing started, I pointed him toward other mufflers. The kid though was convinced that early glass packs had real glass in them.
He seems to be pretty hard headed.
