It died of lead poisoning.

What kind of snake?

Over the years my cats have brought me mice, birds, moles, chipmunks, rats, frogs, snakes (none that big!), baby bunnies, squirrels, and a FOX!

Dude, you live too close to me for this.

That said, what are you going to do with it?

That looks like a little copperhead. They can get up to like 40"!!

I found a baby one in our stick/fallen limbs pile out back a few weeks ago. I can only imagine what lurks deeper in that pile.

I hate a damn copperhead...hate em with a passion.Fish around moccosins all day in my little boat but these bastids...

The babies ones are worse, so I hear. They kinda lack in the venow control department and are usually quite lethal...rattlers too. I've found a few rattle snakes are here lately in the 3-4 foot range. About as big around as a baseball bat. :sniper:

haha i like how there was a photo opp before the cat was removed from the scene!!That is a man that knows how smart his feline friend is!!!!!! yeah those copperheads just lay still until you step on them, at least a rattler will let you know he is there.

I love the body expression on that cat. kinda like, 'wtf is that' and 'Im ready to kick your arse' mixed with a little back legs loaded to jump 4' in the air at a momets notice.
yeah, lots of things die around my place with the whole instant and terminal lead posisoning thing.

Actually i was in the house and my wife pulled up and I kept seeing flashes out the window. She grabbed the cat and came in and told me there was a snake in the yard. I grabbed teh flashlight and my pistol and went exterminating. It is a good thing I had the light because he was not where I thought she said he was.

Good kitty........I'd give it a can of tuna for that!!..........Warbeast that snakeskin would look good skinned and tanned and worn as a headband on your hat !!

Are you sure about the kind of snake your cat found? Looks a lot like a Rattle-headed Cotton Moccasin found mostly in Alaska, commonly known as a Snow Snake! I like your cat!
