-BFG Mud-Terrains
-Kumho Road Ventures
-Firestone destination

If anyones had these tire before please let me know what u thought of them or if u know of a good aggressive looking tire that doesn't wear fast please let me know.
thanks for the feedback

If you go with the BFG's get em siped and be careful of the sidewall. Siping makes a world of difference on wet pavement. I have a little more than 30,000 miles on mine and with them being siped, regularly rotated, and getting even wear they still have about 60 - 70% of the tread left:

i have the firestone's and like them alot. i was running bias ply tsl's before these so was a little worried i'd loose alot of traction off-road but the have performed very well off-road and ride very nice on the street and have some side "lugs" and rim protector similar to bfg but i think they look better. i have a friend who got the kumho's a few weeks after i got the firestone's and his are showing alot more wear than the firestone's but the kumho's perform well from what i've seen especially for the price. i've probably put 10-12k miles on them and have at least 85% tread left.

I run the BFG KMs on the road and ran them as my primary on and off road tire for a long time. I now run a separate set of swampers for off road.

The only thing I can say negative about the KMs is they do have a relatively thin sidewall. I sliced 2 on the rocks, once at Tellico and once at Uwharrie. The cool thing is I got mine for a very competitive price at Discount Tire and their warranty is worth every penny. Both tires were replaced, no questions asked. All I had to do is renew the lifetime balancing for $30.

For pretty much everything else, I've loved them. I've gotten very good road wear out of them. I do get them balanced on a regular basis and if you do that, you can expect between 30k and 40k out of them. They work great in the sand, the mud and pretty much everywhere else I took them.

one thing to remember is that the 35" x-terrains run a little small, and if they are rubbing, some 33's will too.
Might want to mount one and try it before you end up in the same situation and out the money for the new tires.

thanks for the feed back guys, keep'em coming. i think its between the bfg's and the firestones right now, i get payed next friday so i'm gonaa order a set then...

tires

I know the weight of the vehicle plays an important factor. I used to work at a tire shop and the Firestone destinations always took the least amount of weight to balance and seemed to last longer. I used to get the same customers in to get their tires rotated and balanced and the Firestones always looked brand new. I used to have 33" BFG KM's and they worked well but if I were to do it over again I would have bought the Firestones. My BFG's got to be noisy, always took a ton of weight and did not last that long (about 34xxx miles).

BFG is the only tire I'd buy for a street driven 4X4. All the ones I've had lasted a ridiculously long time and were round and stayed that way. Lots of weights or not. They were actually round. Can't say the same for firestones.

I've had really good luck with the TrXus MT's. About 20K on 'em and one is worn. (Might have a lot to do with IFS, shitty rear brakes and I drive it like I stole it) Reasonably quiet, hella tough sidewalls. I blasted a rock last year hard enough to fold the outer lip of the rim, bend the knuckle and you can't see any damage to the tire at all. For a light rig they flex well and the best part is the 33's are about $125 each. I've run them in rain, sleet, ice, snow, mud and sand and overall been very happy with the performance. The only time they get squirrly is under a hard hole shot on a wet road. (the tsl's are worse as are the procomps the junk showed up with)

Not to say you couldn't cut one down but, other than the TSL's I've cut every other tire I've run including a bogger. Just another suggestion to look at.
