lookin for forest service road

lookin for some forest service roads to get out and ride around on next weekend, maybe out toward hurricane creek

also does anyone have directions to hurricane creek and an estimated travel time from kannapolis nc?

also know of any good resteraunts in that area?
 
Seem to remember a mention in a recent event or gallery thread... search the forum for "hurricane creek" and they should show up.
 
Its up above Maggie Valley right off of 40. If I remember its somewhere near the Falls Creek exit (not sure what the exit number is). If you watch there are a couple of roads thru there that shoot right off of 40 and wind around that area. As for eating there's several good places to eat in Maggie Valley / Waynesville area.
 
It would be about 3hrs to get there... like they said its right off 40 after fines creek exit.... a couple good dinners close... we might can get a group together if ya want... and hit another couple of trails
 
it's right off of I-40. Harmen Den is exit 7. Before you get to the exit, you'll go down a long straight away and then it will turn to the left. At the end of that curve (still on 40), there is a guardrail that ends and has a street sign that says Hurricane Creek. That's by far the easiest way to get there off the highway.

Also, there's 12 mile. Go to the Harmen Den exit (#7) and go back under the highway. you'll go across a small section of water and continue on a dirt road that goes forever and will eventually poop you out on the stateline down by the hydro plant.

sure a group sounds good to me 704ERIC on here will be riding with me he is in a montero
 
WTF?!?!?!?! Yeah i will be in a montero, a stock unlifted montero on 33's. Front OEM LSD and OEM rear locker and 4.63 gears! When you're bad gas milage runs you out of gas on the trail, i can throw your little CJ5 in the 3rd row seating area! YEAH!!!
 
I dont need them, they're just there in case I need to pull you out of somewhere! Besides, you're the one that is looking for an Isuzu Trooper, the retarded cousin to my Montero!
