My welders been slowly getting worn out. It works great on smaller projects but the drive motor is gets weak after 1/2 hr or more of welding. It needs a new whip and I just replaced the regulator last year.. .So I'm thinking I'd like to get a newer unit.

The current welder is a Hobart Handler HH185. I understand the miller relationship etc.. Mine has a Miller whip and some parts inside are miller etc... So overall I've been happy with this welder.

I'd love to justify a miller 210 style machine, but fact is I don't weld every day and many times not for several weeks or more... Northern has a package deal on the HH210 and includes the lower end spool gun. For $889 (w/ free shipping)

I like this model as I can still use my tool box welder cart setup AND I can step up to doing some light alum. welding when i get the argon tank.

Any thoughts, ideas, opinions on this one ? Anyone have one ?

I looked at used welders out of curiosity and people are asking almost what a new welder (with new features) costs, for a 5 year old machines..

My only question is what do you want for the 185?

If you are happy with the current Hobart that you have I think that you will still be happy with the the 210 machine. It seems to be difficult to justify the added expense of a Miller that is much more expensive when you are not making money with the welder.
