Its still illegal. Remove it and get 35% on it and you will be fine. Its a class 2 misdemeanor and a arrestable offense.

Says the police officer on the board.... It sucks, but it's true. Most inspection places aren't willing to risk their license or a fine for your tint. I tried to do the "roll down the windows and pull the fuse" thing once. Yeah, that didn't work.

Duh, pull the relay, it's much easier to come up with a replacement fuse than the relayI tried to do the "roll down the windows and pull the fuse" thing once. Yeah, that didn't work.
You could do it the legal way, fill out a form with the DMV Drivers Medical Evaluation Program, have your doctor sign it, file it, and put it in your car. It's good for 5 years. Hint: People with blue or light green/gray eyes are MUCH more sensitive to light.
I haven't done this, but have thought about it to be all "legal". But with almost 10 years with 20% windows, I have had no issues to worry about.
