44's are a great set of axles for 37" & under tires, but i would advise hard shafts & u joints for hd wheelin, th400 is a hd at and a good choice, dont even consider a gm th 350 it is strong tranny but you will need adapters & it has clearance problems between the frt driveshaft & tranny pan.
