Hi All,
I just picked up a 61 Willys Wagon from a member here on the site. I am planning a fairly mild build and was planning to go with Dana 44's from a FSJ with waggy springs up front and chevy 63's in the rear. Not sure about SOA or spring under at this point. I have a set of front waggy springs from another project and after a few quick measurements it looks like I would get at least 5-6" of lift in the front with waggy springs set up for spring under. I'd like to run 35's and I am pretty sure 5-6" of lift will clear 35's. Not sure about the chevys in the rear yet as I don't have a set to measure up. I also plan to go with a 350/350 combo and probably an NP208. I am looking for any advice or things to look out for with these components. Does this sound like a decent combo?

the np208 would be a decent transfer case, but a np205 would be alot beefier case, but you would sacrifice the low range somewhat with stock gears...

youre probly gonna get mixed feelings on the SOA/SUA here, but SOA typically will give you alot more lift, allowing flatter, flexier springs, but also has more axle wrap...

the 63" chevys flex well, but i dont think they are offset, so make sure you have enough room to get them axle where you want it under the truck

sounds like you are on your way to having a cool rig though...

Thanks for the feedback. I understand the SOA/SUA argument. The thing is that if I go SOA I will end up with way too much lift for what I want. Just placing the waggys and chevys in there with SUA will give me 5-6" at minimum based on a quick mockup. I am planning to stick with 44's and 35" tires so I can keep to a somewhat sensible budget. Now if a couple of ton axles came around for the right price then maybe, but to start with I'll go SUA.
